At G4AL we develop exciting AAA blockchain games, as well as tools to help gamers and game developers benefit from crypto. We are rapidly expanding and are looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with expertise in video games and/or crypto to join our highly talented and motivated team.
Reporting to the COO, the CTO will be responsible for the G4AL technological infrastructure. The CTO will identify long -and short- term IT needs, overseeing system designs and changes, leading technical teams in everyday operations, and ensuring the sustainability, scalability and robustness of G4AL’s tech infrastructure.
Our current stack includes C# for both our client and backend code (using Unity Framework to develop our titles). Blazor is being used to implement our web frontend dashboards. Our infrastructure is built on top of Google Cloud, using Cloud Run and Kubernetes, experience in creating scalable backend solutions is a plus.
In this critical role, you will become the technology expert at G4AL, ensuring that our tech stack is optimised and fits our needs. You will lead all technology-related initiatives and build, lead, engage and inspire a technical team. You will need to have demonstrated experience at a senior level in video game and blockchain projects.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic direction: You will lead the development and delivery of technology services and review the strategic opportunities and projects within G4AL to ensure that they conform with a consistent enterprise architecture, providing specialist input to projects as required to ensure the quality of project deliverables.
- Software build: You will be responsible for the build out of the software team and in charge of driving the technical vision, roadmap and development of the G4AL platform. This includes growing and leading the engineering team, including recruitment, performance management and professional and personal development.
- Technical accountability: You will provide technical accountability for the organisation’s information technology infrastructure, ensuring that all systems needed are in place to guarantee the security, scalability and robustness of the G4AL platform and its applications, briefing the senior management team on status and risks.
- Stakeholder and partnership management: You will develop strong and enduring relationships with relevant technology leads externally, and you will be expected to effectively engage and influence a wide range of external stakeholders to build trust and accountability for the organisation.
About you
Essential:
- 12+ years of experience in a senior technical role in video games and/or blockchain businesses leading high performing managing teams. CTO experience a plus.
- Understanding of videogames and blockchain aspects such as NFT, DeFi, governance, utility tokens, DAO, launchpads, Binance network, wallets, etc.
- Entrepreneurial drive with start-up experience and the ability to be hands-on whilst the engineering team grows.
- Extremely proactive and strategic, able to take the initiative and create and implement growth-oriented plans without instruction or guidance.
- Analytically minded, with a deep understanding of the technical details involved in architecting and building products from launch through to maturity.
- Outstanding leadership skills, team player and open to giving and receiving feedback.
- Excellent communication skills in English.

- Successful Games as a Service launch and growth experience.
- Professional DeFi or blockchain gaming experience.
- Good command of Spanish.
